Our Activities

Exchange of Good Practices

One of the main missions of NEON is to foster the exchange of experience and good practices among its members. We do this in our regular meetings and through specific workshops and events. To know more about the NEON exchange of good practices, download our work programme 2018-2019.

Participation in Commission Working Groups

NEON representatives attend working groups, workshops and events organised by the Directorate-General for Justice & Consumers and the Directorate-General for Energy: Citizens’ Energy Forum, Working group on vulnerable consumers, Working group on e-billing and data management, Expert Group on consumers as energy market actors, etc.

NEON members contributed to the Working Group Report on Alternative Dispute Resolution in the Energy Sector Report prepared for the 4th Citizens’ Energy Forum in October 2011.

Interest Representation and Stakeholder Relations

NEON encourages the protection and empowerment of energy consumers through the promotion of statutory, public-interest and independent complaint-resolution bodies. To do this, we actively monitor EU policies and position ourselves on all relevant topics to make our voice heard in Brussels and beyond. Read more on our latest policy activities.

In addition, NEON collaborates with consumer organisations, public authorities, NGOs and other stakeholders in Europe and worldwide on a daily basis in order to improve and reinforce consumer protection within the energy markets.

Link with the Research Community

NEON maintains excellent relationships with researchers working on ADR, consumer rights and energy markets and supports their projects, such as the ESRC “Just Energy” project.
